The Philippine Tourism Office (PTO) -Shanghai enjoins everyone to support its campaign for the Puerto Princesa Underground River as one of the "World's New 7 Wonders of Nature."

The UNESCO-declared heritage site of Puerto Princesa Underground River in Palawan is the longest navigable underground river in the world, and the lone entry of the Philippines in the prestigious search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

The global survey is on its last stage before the results are announced in November 2011.

The inclusion of the Puerto Underground River in the elite list is envisioned to promote the international competitiveness of the country's myriad eco-tourism sites, and create opportunities to showcase the said underground river as a site for scientific study as well as for general appreciation of nature and unique bio-diversity found in the Province of Palawan.

Puerto Princesa is the capital of Palawan, which is accessible via numerous daily short flights from Manila. Apart from the underground river adventure, tourists may also enjoy island-hopping and beach activities at Honda Bay, native delectable seafood cuisine, shopping for local souvenirs, and visit to crocodile and butterfly farms.

Have a taste of tropical bliss and unforgettable travel experience by staying at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Puerto Princesa.
