Discovery Shores Boracay is one of Asia's best resorts

Discovery Shores Boracay, the first small luxury hotels resort in the Philippines, is the only Philippine ranked resort among the Top 15 resorts in Asia, in the prestigious World's Best Awards readers' survey of Travel + Leisure.

The ranking was gauged by the monthly publication's questionnaire to its readers at TLWorldsBest.com from 15 December 2009 to 31 March 2010. Readers were invited to participate through Travel + Leisure magazine (January, February, and March issues), and online at TravelandLeisure.com.

The Discovery Shores Boracay was ranked No. 14 with a rating of 90.35 on the annual list posted on the magazine's website (http://www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2010/hotels/resorts-asia/59).
"We are honored to receive such a distinction from the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine," said Jose C Parreño, Jr., Discovery Shores's general manager. "The fact that the survey was done among readers of Travel + Leisure magazine made it more special.

In the annual reader survey, hotels and resorts were rated independently in five categories: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value.

Rising above the white sands of an exclusive stretch of beach in the island of Boracay, Discovery Shores has distinguished itself for the combination of innovative amenities and services, superior culinary offerings that reflect global inspirations, and most of all, a service that combines efficiency and the time-honored graciousness of Filipino hospitality – service that's all heart. This is Discovery Shores's World's Best debut, ranking No. 14 with a score of 90.35, among Top 15 Resorts in the Asian region and is the only Philippine property among renowned resorts from India, Thailand, and Cambodia.

In 2009, Discovery Shores received the honor "Best Triple A Resort in Western Visayas," given by the Department of Tourism Region VI. Parreño was likewise honored as one of the Regional Director's Awardees. Its Indigo Restaurant consistently rates among Philippine Tatler's Best Restaurants List and was shortlisted for Miele Guide's 2010/2011 Best Restaurants in Asia list.
